Thanks to long-time resident Mike Plott for taking photos of Rockridge Manor in the 1970s, then archiving, digitizing and sharing them!
Mike Plott’s notes:
I was just looking through my old files and noticed that I still have my checks for paying for rent at Apt. 306 RII for the month of March 30, 1977. It was $340.00 to Shelter Enterprises.
Here are a few more images I got off from my slides. The Jacuzzi was nice. My twin brother Patrick was at the front entrance of 2005 holding the door open. We were on our way to work at that moment and I wanted to get a snapshot of the Lobby. Speaking of my brother, we both initially lived at R1 unit 313 when we first moved to the apartment complex that was around 1974. Jim Casale was very nice in signing us up as renters. R! building was originally brown in color.
If I only had my camera when the Caterpillar backhoe was digging out the swimming pool as Jim Casale was showing my twin brother and me the property when we signed up to rent a unit.
I recall Jim Casale having an assistant in his office there. Those times remind me when one needed the central vacuum hose, you had to go get the key for the hose and wand and you had to borrow the “rake” from the office to primp up the shag carpet after vacuuming. When I lived in unit 306 RII the shag carpet was green and one wall was green too. Those were still some good times!
Gosh, there are lots of good memories living here in Rockridge.
