Goodbye Betty Jo!

Betty Jo is leaving Rockridge Manor after 23 years to live with her family in Antioch, CA. For many years Betty Jo decorated the 250 Whitmore St lobby for the holidays.
Should you want to add your goodbye note to Betty Jo, put them in the comments and I will add them to her card.
(Below is Betty Jo’s message written on August 15 to her neighbors at 250 Whitmore.)
To all of my neighbors and friends at Rockridge.
I was blessed with the honor of moving into R1 on December 14, 2001. Early on I became acquainted with Colleen and Jim as neighbors and our relationship grew into true friendships. I met Adelio and Manny, two of the most accommodating and willing building maintenance men in solving and repairing needed repairs ASAP. Manny and his family are also family. Jordana and I became mother, friend, advice counselor and family members. David and Lev are also family members. Lev & my Grandson James age 11 have shared and attended their Birthday Parties and play dates and really enjoy each other.
Before the Pandemic Joe and I shared many walks in a variety of neighborhoods and communities. One walk began at 250 Whitmore and went all the way to the Claremont Hotel and back. Joe, I miss those long walks. I miss all of you grateful for the love and support I’ve received and still receive from all of you in the card you signed.
Thank you for the beautiful card of our buildings and neighborhood and Joe’s taking the time to obtain all the special expressions and signatures from everyone in my honor. Thank you, Thank you![]()

250 Whitmore Roofing Update
Dear Residents,
Last year, Armstrong Roofing installed a new roof on your building. We are very happy to say that during this past winter of very heavy rain, we had zero leaks through the new roof. We did see some areas which need touch up work. Armstrong will perform that touch up work Wednesday October 4. If they are unable to enforce the Parking Permit granted by the City of Oakland, they will perform this work on Thursday, when parking will almost certainly be enforced. Please do not park your cars in the first 5 parking spaces near your building, or where you see signs posted saying that parking is reserved.
Sincerely,
Manager
